Out of breath

They say to ask yourself questions

So that you get to know yourself better

But what if you dig so deeply

It starts to hurt

Everything you see

Everything you feel

It’s too much

You just want it to stop

You want to swim back up to the surface

But you’re almost out of breath

How do you escape this suffering?

You’re so weak to swim further

With the bruises from your journey to find… you

Do you keep going despite the wounds?

Or do you take the easy way out and let go?

-Rochelle A.

It’s been a while since I’ve written a poem. My thoughts have been all over the place lately. I’ve been really negative the past week, and that’s when I usually feel more inspired to write poetry… you know, to let some of the pain/anger out.

  1. It’s convincingly difficult to bounce back after all the bruises. Only possible with a committed mindset.
