Back to school (teacher edition)

I just want to take this opportunity to wish all teachers a great school year. The past two years were tough on everyone and now that we’re finally starting to get back to normal, I hope everyone is doing ok and are ready to teach and inspire the youth.

While there’s a shortage of teachers in many places including where I am, there are still many educators out there who are still passionate about this career. I hope that we do not lose that passion despite the obstacles that we may face throughout the year.

This year, I am not a trolley teacher. I am grateful to have my own classroom. I did not expect it, but it was a sweet surprise. My schedule is still packed, but I am determined to not give up on the good habits I’ve built this summer.

I am still teaching high school; grades 7 and 8 to be exact. For some of you, those might be considered middle school.

I am feeling optimistic about this upcoming year, but then again, we never know what will happen. One thing is for sure, I will put my mental health first. There are times when we just need to be selfish even when all we want to do is help others.

  1. I’m blown away by the love and effort that teachers put into their work. The older I get, the more I appreciate the work that they do, and I look back with increasing fondness for the teachers I had. Good luck for the school year, you’re doing such important work and you are making impacting some kids lives for the better.
